Kimberly Nashawaty, Branch Director
I needed to find a place where I could go that I could afford, would help with my children and would help me find a sense of purpose other than being a stay at home mom. My first class at the YWCA was in June of 1995. I found friendship, community, and a wonderful day care provider. I could not stay with the one-time classes. I wanted more. I moved onto ten weeks classes: quilting, knitting, and basket weaving. To fill in more of my time I took oils and vinegars and jam making. When taking classes wasn’t enough, I started volunteering my time. I taught cross-stitching and joined the fundraising and program committees. The mission statement and the community outreach activities impressed me so much that I was very excited when the Assistant to the Directors job came open in May of 2004. I enjoyed working with Linda O’Callahan for three years. Linda is a special person who has taught me many things. When Linda retired I then became the Director of the YWCA Marshfield Branch in March of 2008. It has been a very exciting year and I look forward to many more years learning about the YWCA mission statement and hopefully will make my own mark on the empowerment of women and their own economic empowerment and making a difference in the elimination of racism.

Mary Balestracci, Assistant to the Director
I started taking quilting classes at the Marshfield YWCA in Sept of 2000. My interest in the YW grew more and more with each season. After my kids were born I decided the playroom at the “Y” was the perfect place for them while I volunteered on the Program Committee and took quilting and knitting classes. I enjoy being around women that give so much of themselves, so when the opportunity came up to work at the YWCA I couldn’t say no. I started as the Assistant to the Director in March of 2008.
